Corpus Christi Hotel Flooring Renovation
A full flooring renovation for a 60-room hotel in Corpus Christi, TX — removing worn carpet throughout all guest rooms and corridors and installing commercial-grade luxury vinyl plank in rooms, ceramic tile in bathrooms and high-traffic corridors — 18,000 sq ft total.
The Challenge
The hotel needed to remain partially operational during renovations to maintain revenue. Rooms were taken offline in rotating blocks of 10. The coastal Gulf Coast humidity made adhesive selection critical — standard adhesives can fail in high-humidity environments near the coast.
Our Solution
We sourced a moisture-tolerant LVP system with a waterproof core rated for high-humidity coastal applications. Each room block received a moisture barrier primer before installation. Work ran in two 10-hour shifts per block to maximize turnover speed. Corridor tile was installed overnight to avoid disrupting guest movement.
The Results
All 60 rooms were completed within the 3-week window with zero guest complaints during the renovation. The hotel manager reported the new flooring was the most commented-on improvement in post-stay reviews. In the 14 months since installation the property has had zero flooring warranty claims.
