Fort Worth Medical Office Drywall Build-Out
Full drywall installation for a 6,500 sq ft medical office suite build-out in Fort Worth, TX — framing and hanging 5/8" Type X fire-rated drywall throughout, with sound-dampening assemblies in exam rooms, a Level 5 finish in the reception area, and FRP board at all clinical wash stations.

The Challenge
Medical office construction requires sound isolation between exam rooms for patient privacy (STC 45+ per code) and fire-rated assemblies at corridor and mechanical room walls. The Level 5 finish in the reception area demanded perfect substrate preparation — any imperfection shows under high-sheen paint.
Our Solution
We used sound-dampened steel stud assemblies with resilient channels and acoustic sealant at all exam room walls, achieving STC 52 — exceeding the minimum requirement. All Type X assemblies were documented with installation photos for the fire marshal submittal. The Level 5 reception area received two skim-coat passes, each block-sanded between applications, with a final inspection under raking light before signoff.
The Results
All drywall assemblies passed the fire marshal inspection on the first submission. The Level 5 finish received specific praise from the interior designer, who noted it was the cleanest substrate she had seen on a medical project. The practice opened on schedule, and sound isolation between exam rooms has eliminated the patient privacy concerns experienced at their previous facility.
