San Antonio Commercial Electrical Panel Upgrade
A full electrical service upgrade for a 12,000 sq ft commercial office building in San Antonio, TX — replacing an outdated 200-amp panel with a new 400-amp service, adding dedicated circuits for HVAC units, and rewiring aging branch circuits throughout the facility.

The Challenge
The building's 1970s electrical infrastructure was undersized for modern commercial loads — frequent breaker trips were disrupting operations and the aging wiring posed a fire risk. The upgrade had to be completed without shutting down the tenant's business operations, requiring all work to be phased and coordinated around occupied office hours.
Our Solution
We staged the upgrade over two weekends to minimize operational disruption. The new 400-amp service was roughed in during the first weekend, with a temporary feed maintaining power to critical circuits throughout. On the second weekend, we made the final cutover, replaced the distribution panel, and commissioned all new circuits. Our licensed master electrician pulled all permits and coordinated the utility company inspection.
The Results
The upgrade was completed with zero days of business downtime. The new 400-amp service gave the building 100% spare capacity for future tenant improvements. The building owner reported zero electrical incidents in the 12 months following the upgrade, and the improved panel passed the city inspection on the first visit.
