May Post Office Sign Replacement

The exterior sign at the May Main Post Office, the one that reads United States Postal Service, was blown out and shattered in high wind. We fabricated and installed a new sign so the office was clearly marked again from the highway.

The Challenge

May sits on a state highway, and the post office sign had been destroyed by wind, leaving the building with no clear identification from the road. The replacement had to stand up to the same open, windy conditions that took out the original.

Our Solution

We measured the existing sign structure, fabricated a new face and panel to postal standard in our sign shop, and installed it on the existing supports. We mounted it to hold up to the wind exposure at this location so it would last.

The Results

The post office is clearly marked again from Highway 183, with a new sign built to handle the wind that destroyed the last one. Customers can spot the office at a glance from the road.
